Friday Third Week of Advent

1 Peter 5:6-7  Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,  casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Remember when a child comes running with tears or a grown child calls and expresses concern about something in their life or when you have called home to spill all your troubles on a parent? It doesn’t matter of it is financial, marital, siblings or health issues, when you hear the person on the other end of the phone say, “It will be okay, we will just take one day at a time.” It feels like a weigh has been lifted from your shoulders. That’s how it is with God. Go to God with all of our troubles, worries, concerns, lay them at his feet. Let him know we cannot carry them any more and we need help turn them over.

Help me to learn to cast all my anxieties on you. Teach to no go it alone. Thank you Lord Jesus for loving me and taking me the way I am.
