Wed. First Week of Advent

Blessings…a favor or gift bestowed by God, thereby bringing happiness. I think of Mary, the mother of Jesus during Advent. Mary was the finest, simplest, purest example of turning oneself over to God in full trust. God laid the creator of the world in the arms of a young girl, worthy of this honor because she trusted and said yes to God. I have been blessed with four children of my own. Today, I received a phone call from each of my kids, each one for a different reason, each phone ending with a simple, “Love you.” Molly called to tell me everyone is bed, still talking, but in bed. Brain is on a business trip and she single-handed got six kids off to school, did homework, fed and bathed and in bed, a full day well done. Natalie in Japan updates me on her English class with a Japanese lady, Barcley at work and experiences living in a foreign country. Sally’s call made me recall days of bring a new baby home from the hospital with two little girls at home and everyone trying to find their new place in the family. All the time while trying feed a hungry nursing baby. My son, Joe calls to talk about their coming home for Christmas, putting up their tree and lights and work is good. The blessing that ended my day was being able to spend an hour in prayer during my Holy Hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament. This was my turn to tell my Father about my day. Isaiah 54:13 All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. Father God, Teach me your ways, lead me along your paths, help me to learn to trust in You completely. Remind me to take time to tell you about my days and all the happens. California Sun
