12-4-14 Thursday First Week of Advent

Today’s gospel spoke of the feeding of the 5,000. Matt15:32 “Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion on the crowd, because they have been with me now three days, and have nothing to eat; and I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”  Jesus wanted to teach his disciples compassion, “I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”  The disciples knew there was no way for them to feed all the people so Jesus showed them if they opened themselves to the Father, he could take their small gifts/blessings and multiply them beyond anyone’s imagination. So with seven loaves of bread and three small fish they fed 5,000 with leftovers.

I shiver to think what blessings each of us could shower upon others if we were open to using our talents/gifts and God multiply them.

Isaiah 25:9 It will be said on that day, “Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”

Dear Lord, Let me step out boldly using the gifts and talents you have showered upon me. Let me open my mind, heart and soul to the workings of the Holy Spirit. Let me be a blessings to others.Morning
