Words of the Saints to Ponder While Journeying Toward Bethlehem
St. Cyril of Jerusalem (313 – 386)
Born: Modern day: Israel
Doctor of the Church, Bishop, Confessor,
Feast Day: March 18th
Patron Saint of: Catholic Church
“Teacher of children became himself a child among children, that he might instruct the unwise. The Bread of heaven came down to earth to feed the hungry.”
Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, You came as a baby. A helpless, defenseless and vulnerable babe. You seek out for the lost, the sick, the poor, and the suffering along by the byways, and edges of society. If I were the only person on earth, you still would have come just for me and me alone. Just like a baby your love is unconditional. Beloved Christmas Miracle, save me, I wait and long for your coming.
Music:
O Come, Divine Messiah!
O come in peace and meekness,
For lowly will your cradle be:
Though clothed in human weakness
We shall your Godhead see.
Dear Savior, haste! Come, come to earth.
Dispel the night and show your face,
And bid us hail the dawn of grace.
