Psalm Response: (8) The Lord is gracious and merciful; slow to anger, and of great kindness.
Repeating this response, “and of great kindness” several times today at Mass really struck me. When I am the reprecipitant of an act of kindness, I smile, feel like, I am on top of the world and try to find ways to pass on that feeling on to others. When I think of God being, “of great kindness” I feel humbled, embarrassed and certainly unworthy. God is all loving and all good. That means there is no room for God to be any other way. God is only kind, patience, merciful, good, loving and yet God has decided to choose me. I am not sure what God’s plan is for me but I need to be ready. When I think about being ready that is what Advent is all about…Be alert, be ready, be awake. Like Mary, we wait for the arrival of her babe, our Savior of the world. It all sounds so big, so grandiose but we are waiting…waiting to say yes when God’s plan for each of us is reveal.
Lord, show me your plan and help me, take me by the hand to show how to trust in you and your plan for me.
